Matt, I get a fantastic sense of Vertigo in this diagram,
I wonder if the program structure is getting too linear! as various elements are getting far apart,
I guess the separation relationship between the dorms and the classrooms would be very succesful in the way you work it out, perhaps you mean, the place where you work is not the same place to relax or even close!
I wonder about two space relationships in the structure:
- between the Exhibit space and the classes, faculty.
Matt, You are moving right along now that you’re on. I saw you were up most the night!!! You crazy man. Your program and diagram are looking good. I had a question about your separation of the dining room. Is this something you have done for space organization or another reason? I only mention this because I know that I wish we had more interaction with the other cohort and even the other semester class. Will these spaces you have created be designated for specific classes or are they for use by all? Keep up the good work.
Matt, sorry to hear you were out sick. I think you are right on track; missing only the narrative. But don't overdue with allnight work. The intensive is just around the corner; you will have plenty of time then to work tons. I'd like to hear your response to Jaclyn's question, the interaction between the different cohorts and the different classes is one of the topics we are interested too.
I haven't really decided how integrated each dining/lounge will be for the different studios. I could very easily see these next to one another perceived as maybe one large space. They are definately NOT totally seperated, maybe just show this way to allocate space per dorm pod. I will investigate this further in my narrative and quite possibly this will be a communal space joining all the rooms. Please check back. Thanks for the input!
Thank you for the comments. About the dining/lounge space; I can see these integrated into one common area. I originally though they could be divided but close so cohort groups that want to partake in a team or class function could have space. This can easily be accomplished by one large room with different areas. Different dining and lounge areas will also allow for different activities to happen if some want to watch tv, play cards, different tv show, board games, teams working on a project, quiet area?
