Eddie, I have been continually trying to find a view or rendering that displays the depth of my design that describes the original SketchUp parti of the dorm rooms. I think this first image finally presents my solution in a successful manner.
Jaclyn, These are rendered in 3DS Max usng V-Ray for radiosity calculations. Revit exports and imports almost effortlessly. One light sourse (Sun) is illuminating all of these images.
After seeing this image below, I'm going to futher study the curved panel creating the roof for my dorm room and try to perforate them to direct light on the south interior wall also.

Matt,
Great studies!!! I don't know.... you think those handrails for the ramps meet code without any guards or balusters?? HAHA, had to find something to criticize, since there is nothing wrong with your drawings! Can you take a shot of the interior of the residence rooms? This is my only area of concern based on these images. It seems a lot more light is being blocked than I initially envisioned. Is it possible to make the shades a little lighter if there is no light penetrating the residential windows? Great work Matt! Next time we're in Boston you are teaching me Revit and I will but it! Good job!
Jaclyn,
There is glass between the posts. I just didn't want you to think this part of the design wasn't covere. :-D
No, No I'm just teasing. I figured that I just wanted to get on you a bit. Good work Matt, you amaze me with your software knowledge!
Awesomo! I think you have managed to protray the living quarters as they read on your sketchup model.
No chance of painting those in a different color or material? Will you be doing some sort of animation? I think George Lucas would put his pencil down if you did that! :-)
Eddie,
I haven't colored the elevations yet. This is just a white rendering.
